Main Lug Only

A Solid State Soft Starter is a reduced voltage starter that controls the starting current and torque of AC motors by SCR’s. This allows for lower in-rush current and lower starting torque. After the starting time, bypass contactors close and the full voltage is applied across the line. This type of motor starter is used for industrial equipment such as large air compressors and pumps. Main lug only starters have no disconnect means and short circuit protection is provided by the end user.
